Biography: Jonathan Porter White (Jonathan Porter is his pen name) was born in Seattle in 1981 to his parents Sharon White and Jeremy White. He was the second and last child born to the two because two boys were more than enough. Jonathan's brother, Bailey, is 36, and a teacher in Seattle.

Jonathan was a strange kid, always creating elaborate stories and keeping to himself most of the time. He decided that he wanted to be a writer in 5th grade when he wrote a love poem to another girl in school and she fell in love with him. Later, things would tragically end when she would say that another boy in school was cute. The nerve.

When Jonathan was 17, he graduated high school a year early and immediately started taking classes at the Seattle University. He took as many English classes as he possibly could and soaked up as much information as possible. In his 5th semester at school, Jonathan was only 19, his father was killed in a car accident by a drunk driver who was paying more attention to his cell phone instead of the road.

At the age of 20, Jonathan wrote and published his first book, Neverwhere. He moved to LA and quit school.

Jonathan currently is divorced and living in Los Angeles. He currently lives in an apartment, but has recently purchased a house and plans to start moving some time in February.
